Fourth Trimester Support
CRMC’s Fourth Trimester Support builds community and family resilience with accessible, comprehensive postpartum care. During our home-based visits CRMC midwives provide education, heart-centered midwifery care and holistic support that includes and goes beyond clinical assessment. Everyone deserves care that can facilitate postpartum healing in order to thrive.
When to Start Care:
CRMC’s Fourth Trimester Support includes one prenatal visit, education courses, and postpartum visits as discussed below. We are happy to start care with you between 28 & 36 weeks. This allows time for you to have your prenatal visit and begin education courses earlier in the third trimester. Beginning our relationship with you early in your third trimester in pregnancy helps us get to know you and your family.
Prenatal Visit Schedule:
We will schedule your prenatal appointment between 28-36 weeks. Prenatal appointments are usually 2 hours in length. Due to the nature of midwifery and births, we may need to cancel and reschedule this appointment. Please be understanding that we are doing the best we can to tend to those with the highest need as we are attending births.
Education Classes:
CRMC’s Fourth Trimester Support includes education classes for you to attend between 28 and 36 weeks. At these classes, pregnant people and their families will sit in community with others under the care of CRMC and learn about birth education, postpartum plans, infant feeding and newborn care.
Postpartum Visit Schedule:
As part of CRMC's Fourth Trimester Support, CMRC midwives will come to your home 2 times in the first week and again at 2 weeks, 4 weeks, 6 weeks and as needed in between. We will be bringing heart-centered midwifery care to your home to tend to you and your baby's needs in the postpartum time. We help with the transition to parenthood, infant feeding and emotional needs of new parents. During these visits, the midwives will check on the new parent(s) and baby, support your transition and help with any healing or feeding issues/questions.
Supportive Healing Practices:
We partner with other practitioners in the community and offer a variety of healing modalities to support your postpartum journey.
Cost:
CRMC’s Fourth Trimester Support is an investment of $1600- $50 depending on need.
~Additional costs may include any herbs or supplements purchased during care.
Unfortunately, Medicaid does not cover our services. We encourage uninsured or families on Medicaid to fill out an application for our sliding scale if needed.
