Community Roots Events in Boulder County
At Community Roots Midwife Collective, community is at the heart of everything we do. All of our local events are designed to foster connection across diverse identities and lived experiences, uplifting every member of our chosen family. These gatherings create inclusive spaces—welcoming LGBTQIA2S+ families, BBIPOC communities, youth, and all those often overlooked—so that everyone has the chance to gather, share stories, and grow together in person. By honoring our core value of relationship-based care and celebrating our differences, we build a stronger, more compassionate community for all.

Honoring Birth: Community Celebration and Mural Installation
2024
In 2024, CRMC organized with local artists for a mural installation and celebration in downtown Longmont, CO. This event was free and family friendly.
The event began with a blessing offered by local Danzantes from groupo Tlahuitzcalli followed by a femme DJ spinning tunes, breakdancing performances, art activities and Mariachi Lobos closing the event in style. Food truck Los Lagos Taqueria and Olin Cafetzin were also on site.
The mural was designed by local BIPOC artists to show the importance of maternal and infant health within our community and beyond. The mural is earth-based, ancestrally inspired, and multicultural honoring children + youth, water carriers, life bringers, and the sacred cycles of birth, death, and rebirth. These cycles of life are shared by all humans, and CRMC believes that uplifting and celebrating the importance of wellness and care in these shared transitions is a powerful way to honor and unite our diverse communities.
